Dr. D. Y. Patil Pratishthan was established by Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil in 1990 with the aim of providing education in all fields, thus spreading education to deserving students and thereby helping them to realize their dreams of a careen in profession courses. It runs several institutes in Navi Mumbai, Pune and Kolhapur in engineering, architecture, hospitality management, pharmacy, etc.

Pad. Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Pharmacy was established in 1998-1999 and started its Diploma course from 2003-2004.
